Kern County IT Building

Project Description

Kern County’s new 27,000 SF Information Technology Services building will relocate the existing information technology facility for the County of Kern. This building will house a data center, electrical rooms, computer labs, data operations, warehouse, administration and support areas. It will also integrate the new building site with existing County emergency operations center, emergency dispatch operations (911), as well as the County’s communication facility.

S.C. Anderson, Inc. completed this 8,100 SF Fire Station for the City of Bakersfield to service the needs of our community in the growing Southwest portion of Bakersfield.

McMurtry Aquatic Center

Project Description

The McMurtry Aquatic Center was constructed adjacent to the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center. This multi-purpose swim facility included an 8,551 square foot recreational pool as well as a 50 meter competition rated pool and 2 outlet buildings. Amenities include a double water slide, interactive wet play equipment and water volley ball areas.

Greystone Park

Greystone Park is an 8-acre neighborhood park located in Southwest Bakersfield. Construction included a large shade structure, playground, splash pad, basketball courts, group and individual picnic areas, a paved perimeter loop path, flexible open grass areas, a restroom, and a parking lot.

The Park at River Walk

Encompassing 32 acres, the Park at River Walk consists of two lakes, which also act as water recharge basins for ground water, connected by a stream that winds through the park with four bridges that cross the river rock lined stream. The centerpiece of the park is the Bright House Amphitheater. The stage was designed to appear to be an island, with the lake behind it and a stream running in front. Other amenities include six covered picnic areas, several individual picnic tables and barbecues scattered throughout the park, a playground area, and a gazebo located on the west side.

Fire Station 58

S.C. Anderson, Inc. recently completed (2014) the new Pine Mountain Fire Station #58 for the County of Kern. This facility consists of a new 8,461 square foot wood framed fire station which will include two apparatus bays, courtyard, staff living quarters, emergency medical supply room, oxygen cascade room, hose tower, covered wash area, storage room, emergency generator, public/staff parking, landscaping, vehicle and pedestrian bridges and related site work. Station #58 is the first and currently the only paramedic station in the Kern County Fire Department. This station also features a helipad.

Paso Robles Public Safety Center

This technologically advanced Public Safety Facility replaced the City of Paso Robles’s antiquated fire and police stations with one building able to accommodate both departments. The facility includes all essential components for an efficient combined operation: living quarters for the firemen, apparatus bays, separate men’s and women’s locker rooms (for each police and fire personnel), a full-scale gym, a jail, a state-of-the-art dispatch center, evidence storage, a detached emergency operation center (sufficient for both departments to utilize), and a host of other offices and rooms specific to the departments’ needs.

Meadows Field Airport

Project Description

Constructed by S.C. Anderson, Inc., the William M. Thomas Terminal has four gates. Gates 2, 3, 5 and 6 and houses American Eagle and United Express. It serves all domestic flights at the airport. The terminal also contains an Omni Goods gift shop and a Blimpie restaurant. Features of the terminal include a rotunda with compass point floor design and a scaled model of Spaceship One (which flew out of Mojave about 50 miles (80 km) east of Bakersfield). It is also constructed on a hill, which allows for all passenger services to be on the second level, while airport services are on the first.
